It’s the most wonderful – and crazy – time of the year. On top of your to-do list, you have gifts to buy! The good news is, it’s such an easy solution – basically everyone wants to get fit and take care of themselves, but a lot of times we forget to or just don’t want to spend 30 bucks on a candle. If someone gets one as a gift, though, that is a whole different story. This year, consider giving the gift of fitness with presents that cater to self-care, healthy indulgences, and exercise essentials. In this article, we’ll explore fantastic fitness-related holiday gifts that span categories from self-care to exercise equipment, offering something for everyone on your list.
Self-Care Essentials:
- Skin care: High end skin care companies like Glo Skincare (one of my faves) Elemis, and Ahava sell gift sets for both body and face. If you have doubts about what the giftee’s skin care looks like, a luxury hand cream or even foot cream make great gifts or stocking stuffer. Consider even a lip balm sampler set in different flavors. If you are shopping for a man you know it’s pretty likely they are neglecting their skincare, consider ordering something from Jack Black which is exclusively designed for men and has TSA – friendly products for frequent travelers. You can also go ham and get your honey one of these LED devices for skincare treatments.
- Luxurious Spa/Comfort items: Treat your loved ones to a spa-like experience at home with a set of high-quality body scrubs, face masks, and scented candles. Candles are not what they used to be – companies like Sunday and Nest. These are like the Mercedes of candles. For your significant other consider a nice luxury bathrobe or Turkish towel set. Even a super comfy pair of slippers can fit the bill – and even Vogue says they can be stylish. You can even get a stylish but warm throw, Ugg makes some, or you can even upgrade to designer, which is what Galaxy prefers:
- Aromatherapy Diffusers/Essential oils: Related to the above, diffusers are both pretty to look at and give any environment a spa-like feel. Paired with essential oils, it can create a serene atmosphere that aids relaxation and stress reduction. Again, Nest is one of the most well-known brands for these. You can also get essential oils that can be applied to the diffuser and the body.
- Journals: Consider this for someone who often complains of being scatterbrained and/or anxious through the day. A journal can really help you level set and collect your thoughts. They are more than just blank notebooks – they are decorative and beautiful. I love the five-minute journal because it is a great start for people who are hesitant about approaching journaling or any kind of spiritual routine. It also goes GREAT with candles or any of the above ambience gifts.
Stylish Workout Attire:
- High-Quality Activewear: You know how much I LOVE some good workout clothes, and that is because there is nothing more motivating than a sleek outfit you can wear to Pilates then roll up to a zoom call. Some of my favorite size-friendly brands include Alo Yoga, Koral Activewear, Splits59, and Lulumon. All of these brands also make “street” workout wear you can even wear to a business casual attired office. See my video on this below. Alo even has a very impressive skin and bodycare (including haircare) line.
- Gift Card to Activewear Stores: If you’re unsure about your loved one’s size or style preferences, opt for a gift card to well-known activewear stores. This allows them to choose the perfect pieces for their workouts. You can also sneak into their closet when they are not looking or use your knowledge from doing laundry!
Exercise essentials
- Equipment: If you are splurging on your honey, you could go for broke and get an exercise bike, treadmill, or Mirror…we all did see the Peloton gift commercial in 2019! Even though it got some flack I do not believe it’s a message to someone that they are fat – it’s a message that you love them and want them to take care of themselves. Exercise has SO many benefits other than weight loss for heart, bone, and mental health. (sorry, mini rant!). If you don’t want to spend as much money, a sticky yoga mat from Alo Yoga or Lululemon can really make someone’s day, even if they are only using it at home, it is so easy to roll away. The below Alo mat can also be used on the other side where it is black.
- Boutique Studio or Gym Gift Cards:
- Class Pass: Give the gift of variety with a Class Pass that allows them to explore different boutique studios and classes. From yoga to high-intensity workouts, this gift provides flexibility and excitement.
- Gym Membership: Support their fitness goals by contributing to a gym membership. Many gyms offer a range of classes and amenities to suit various preferences.
- Personalized Fitness Plans:
- Online Fitness Subscription: You can gift access to a fitness app or online platform that offers personalized workout plans. Many apps cater to different fitness levels and goals, making it easy to find the perfect fit. Here is a complete list of apps/subscriptions you can gift from Shape Magazine.
- Magazine subscriptions! Yes, magazines still exist. Perfect way to pass the time while you are on the treadmill or at the airport. Some of the ones that still come in print form are Men’s and Women’s Health, Runner’s World, and Women’s Running.
- You can gift a book (like mine!) or some others that I have recommended on my post about best fitness books
- Resistance Bands: Compact and versatile, resistance bands are perfect for at-home workouts. They target different muscle groups, offering a full-body workout experience. I am a huge fan of Arena resistance bands.
- Smart Jump Rope: Elevate cardio sessions with a smart jump rope that tracks jumps, calories burned, and workout duration. It’s a fun and efficient way to stay active.
Healthy Snacks:
- Gourmet Healthy Snack Box: Opt for a curated selection of delicious and nutritious snacks. From organic nuts to dried fruits, to even hot sauce sets, (see my article on why this is good for you), this is a great “gift basket” to send.
- Artisanal Tea Set: Encourage mindful sipping with a collection of premium teas. Tea not only promotes hydration but also provides various health benefits, making it a thoughtful and elegant gift.
- Fun Condiments: If you want to give someone a little spice in their life and you know they love to ask for hot sauce when you go out, consider a hot sauce gift set you can get from one of the places I recommend in my article about how great hot sauce is for you.
- Blender: The Blend jet is actually relatively inexpensive, and on sale! One of my most stylish recommended this. It is also a perfect gift to college co-eds who have to make meals on the go in their dorms.
